Having previous judicial experience is an incredible asset. I have that experience. I will treat every person who walks into the courtroom with fairness and dignity. As I’ve always done in my previous roles as a judge. The courts affect real lives, real families, and I’ve always taken that responsibility seriously. My goal is simple: apply the law fairly, ensure everyone is heard, and uphold the integrity of the justice system for the people of El Paso.
Experience
I bring a broad range of courtroom experience to the bench. Over the course of my legal career, I have tried more than two dozen jury trials to verdict and have served as a prosecutor, a criminal defense attorney, and a judge.
I have more than a decade of judicial experience. As a Municipal Court Judge in El Paso, I presided over high-volume dockets and handled hundreds of cases each week. On any given day, I worked with dozens of individuals appearing in court — many of them navigating the legal system for the first time — ensuring that every person was treated with respect and that the law was applied fairly.
In that role, I also served as a municipal magistrate, reviewing and approving arrest warrants, search warrants, and blood warrants for law enforcement.
I later served as a Federal Immigration Judge, appointed by the U.S. Department of Justice, where I presided over several immigration hearings daily. Asylum cases, bond hearings, cancellations of removal, etc.
These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the law and the responsibility that comes with making decisions that affect people’s lives.
Biography
I am a first-generation American and the youngest of five siblings, all proud products of South Central El Paso. We are all graduates of Jefferson High School — proud Silver Foxes. I later earned my degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, where I remain a proud Miner. El Paso is home, and the values I learned here — hard work, respect, and service to community — continue to guide both my life and my career.

con experiencia en el cargo judicial
Me postulo porque creo que nuestra comunidad merece un juez que entienda la ley, respete la responsabilidad del cargo y trate a cada persona que entra a la sala del tribunal con justicia y dignidad. Los tribunales impactan la vida de personas y familias reales, y esa responsabilidad siempre debe tomarse con seriedad. Mi objetivo es sencillo: aplicar la ley con imparcialidad, asegurar que todos sean escuchados y mantener la integridad del sistema de justicia para la gente de El Paso.
Experiencia
Aporto una amplia experiencia en los tribunales al cargo judicial. A lo largo de mi carrera legal, he llevado más de dos docenas de juicios con jurado hasta veredicto y he servido como fiscal, abogado defensor penal y juez.
Tengo más de una década de experiencia judicial. Como juez de la Corte Municipal en El Paso, presidí sobre calendarios de alto volumen y atendí cientos de casos cada semana. En un día típico de corte, trabajaba con decenas de personas que comparecían ante el tribunal — muchas de ellas enfrentando el sistema judicial por primera vez — asegurando que cada persona fuera tratada con respeto y que la ley se aplicara con justicia.
En ese cargo también serví como magistrado municipal, revisando y autorizando órdenes de arresto, órdenes de registro y órdenes para la extracción de sangre solicitadas por las agencias del orden público.
Posteriormente serví como Juez Federal de Inmigración, nombrado por el Departamento de Justicia de los Estados Unidos, donde presidí audiencias de fianza y otros procedimientos migratorios. Estas experiencias me han dado un profundo entendimiento de la ley y de la responsabilidad que conlleva tomar decisiones que impactan la vida de las personas.
